This week’s newsletter educates readers on what is going on in the industry as well as how Superfy is supporting the circular economy across different verticals. At the RWM (Resource and Waste Management) Expo in Birmingham recently, we unveiled our latest disposable vape collection solution to enhance how they are collected and tracked digitally.
Single-use disposable vapes are the industry's biggest challenge to date
It is estimated that 1.3 million single-use e-cigarettes or ‘vapes’ are thrown away in the UK alone every week. Manufacturers and distributors have come under pressure due to the mass production of waste from their disposable vapes. The added safety concerns from these battery-based products amplifies the need for a tailored solution in the collection and recycling of these products.
The Superfy cloud-based software platform, sensors and smart containers continuously monitor the fill level of vapes in the containers and any rise in temperature. This information is used to streamline collections and enhance safety using optimized routing and automatic alerts.
How battery recyclers are improving collection efficiency
Ecobatt is the largest provider of battery drop-off bins in Australia. Superfy supports Ecobatt with their nationwide battery recycling programme, reducing operational costs for 14,000 collections of 1,000 tonnes of batteries across more than 5,000 collection points.
Superfydelivers sustainable smart resource management solutions for the circular economy, empowering enterprises and connecting cities.
We are solving the problem of low recycling rates by enabling cost effective, scalable nationwide materials collection and recycling programmes. We support a wide variety of material collections, including batteries, soft plastics, organics and glass.
Our software platform, sensors and smart containers track and monitor waste and recycling materials, enabling operational improvements and efficiencies throughout the collection and processing value chain.
