BATTERY RECYCLING - AUSTRALIA
Innovation hub for battery recycling
“Recycling is the starting point in achieving a circular economy for battery manufacturing.”
The introduction of B-cycle, Australia’s battery product stewardship program, marked a significant shift for the industry. In its first year, the scheme resulted in a doubling in the collection rates of small batteries to 16%.
All the stakeholders, from battery recyclers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), mining companies and universities are all coming together on research and proof of concepts to improve and expand battery recycling and reuse.
